Starting Solids Can Feel Overwhelming!

You want to do what’s best for your child’s development. But this is all new! You have no idea where to begin, when to start, or what to feed your baby. You’re nervous, too—about safety, choking, allergenic foods, and doing what is “right.”

We know how you feel because even as feeding therapists and a pediatric dietitian and speech-language pathologist when our kids were starting solids, we felt it too.

Pediatric Dietitian

Hi! I’m Kristen. Pediatric dietitian(RD), feeding therapist and mom—who was scared of starting solids, too.

Trust me when I say I get it! With my first son, I made all the homemade purees. But he wanted none of them. Out of necessity, I learned about baby-led weaning. The more I learned, the more I loved the approach. So we jumped in, and from there, it went great!

But, no two kids are the same! With my second, I was gung-ho about BLW, but he was not. He showed signs that meant we needed extra support. So, I learned about adapted BLW and jumped in again!

I am a mom first, so I know how overwhelming this can be! Even with all the training I had, I was nervous. If you are too, you’re not alone.

As a mother of two, I’ve been there— navigating feeding challenges, advocating for my children, and feeling the stress that comes with those struggles.

Feeding your baby should be a joyful bonding experience, not an overwhelming source of stress. We’re here to help you and your child learn the skills and strategies you need to make mealtimes positive, enjoyable, and fulfilling.

You are not alone, and together, we can turn these challenges into opportunities for connection and growth!

In our Virtual Starting Solids Workshops, we use clinical and real-life experience to help you take the overwhelm out of feeding your baby.

In 90 minutes over Zoom, you’ll learn to safely and confidently introduce solid food to your baby. And actually enjoy the process! From a pediatric RD, a SLP and moms who understands the struggle.

“If it wasn’t for Kristen, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to try half the things my son now loves to eat!”

As a first-time mom, I had no idea what I should feed my baby, when to start feeding my baby, how to cook his food, etc! After taking Kristen’s class I felt so much more confident starting solids. Her course was easy to understand, fast and I learned so much! If it wasn’t for Kristen’s course I don’t think I would have had the confidence to try half the things my son now loves to eat! Frequently Asked Questions

Can other family members join?

Yes! All that care for the child can join 🙂 Cost is per household.

What if I cannot make the live?

While attending live is strongly encouraged, it will be recorded and can be sent out after the live.

If my baby is younger than 4 months of age and older than 8 months of age can I register?

The best ages are 4-8 months. At 4 months old most parents are beginning to think about starting solids in the next few months. You can certainly join before 4 months of age but by the time you start the information may not be as fresh! Most babies by 9 months of age should have progressed past purees and have expanded to table foods. If at 9-10 months of age and your baby is having difficulty with textures and food please reach out to discuss a 1-on-1 assessment.

Kristen’s baby lead weaning workshop was amazing! It made me feel so much more comfortable and confident feeding my 6 month old. I love watching my daughter explore and try new foods. Kristen provided helpful and practical  information that was easy to incorporate into everyday life.
